The Windham Visitor Center which is
located in our Gift Shop has information on things
to do throughout the state. Below are some
of the Windham sights and events. Our historic downtown area of Victorian style commercial buildings features an eccletic mix of locally owned fine arts stores, gift shops, clothing botiques, galleries, theaters, live music spaces, and restaurants.
- Windham Mills , the former American Thead Mills (directly across
from our Museum)
- Garden on the Bridge and other Public Garden Spaces about
town.
- Windham Historical Society headquartered in
the circa 1834 Jillson House.
- Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum,
locomotives and rolling stock, as well as vintage railroad buildings
and a six-stall roundhouse.
- The Painted Ladies, an
opportunity to see our high concentration of Victorian homes about
town.
- Third Thursday, our amazing street festival
on the Third Thursday of every Month from May - October!
- Windham Theater Guild, productions held at the Burton Leavitt Theatre and offer dinner, dessert and show only performances.
- 4th of July Boom Box parade, an eclectic display of patriotism, social
commentary and off-beat fun.
- Willimantic Riverfest sponsored by the Willimantic Whitewater Partnership.
