Resources for Researching Local African American History in Northeastern Connecticut

Jamie H. Eves

The following slide show accompanied a presentation made by Jamie Eves, the Windham, CT, Town Historian, at the spring 2022 conference of the Association for the Study of Connecticut History (04/23/2022). The topic of the conference was “Teaching History with Courage in Tumultuous Times.” Eves’s presentation was meant to acquaint Connecticut high school teachers with the kinds of sources that public historians use when researching African Americans in local history, many of which are available at local libraries, museums, and historical societies.
