We presently offer two weaving classes: Peggy Church’s All About Weaving class equips the students with everything they need to know to do weaving on their own. Midge Colombo’s Weaving in Three Hours class provides students with looms that are already prepared and ready to weave so that students can make something right away. You can see what past attendees have had to say at the bottom of this page.

All About Weaving class Autumn 2026 – Starts Sunday, September 20, 2026 running on consecutive Sundays through November 15th for a total of 8 sessions. All classes are in our weaving studio from 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. Two seats remaining.

Payment
Payment may be made in-person at the Museum’s front desk during normal business hours of 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The Classes
All About Weaving Class
Instructor Peggy Church
All About Weaving is the Mill Museum’s foundational class. It is taught by a master in the Mill Museum’s weaving studio on the second floor of the main building.
Usually, there are 8 lessons on Sunday afternoons from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The class covers everything you need to be able to weave on your own. Attendees will learn how to wind a warp, dress a loom, and weave a sampler. This class is ideally suited for beginners, as well as those wishing to refine their craft.
Deborah Chandler’s Learning to Weave book (ISBN 978-1-59668-139-2) is used in the course. The current cost for the class is $310 without the book, or $340 with the book.

Weaving in 3 Hours
Instructor Midge Colombo
The loom is already prepared for weaving in the Weaving in 3 Hours class. Students can immediately design and weave a small project (e.g. towel, napkin, wall hanging).
This class is ideal for those wishing to experience weaving without having to understand all of the details of preparing a loom. It is a perfect way to “test the waters” without a great deal of time and expense.
The cost for this class is $65 and the capacity for each session is three students. Sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis according to when payment is made.
